Job Overview


       The Facilities Technician will maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and physical grounds For Hostess.  Continuously focuses on quality, customer relations, and performance. Demonstrates behavior                     consistent with Hostess Brands historic values, basic principles, and standards of conduct.  



  • Maintain and repair facility and physical grounds
  • Perform routine maintenance, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and furniture relocation.
  • Repairing basic plumbing, electrical, fire protection and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintaining maintenance logs and work orders.
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all building systems and related equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting on building automated equipment and HVAC control systems.
  • Completion of work orders using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) inputting maintenance data and repair information.
  • Operation of basic hand and machine tools adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Communicate daily with Facilities management, service contractors, and others to coordinate scheduling and repair activities.
  • Commitment to safety policies and best work practices.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Follow health and safety practices as they apply to area of work and the facility
  • Perform appropriate housekeeping tasks as needed
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by manager
  • Occassional weekends REQUIRED


  • High School or equivalent.
  • At minimum, five-year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills: attention to detail, customer focus and ability to multi-task.
  • Basic MS Office Program skills. Works frequently in Excel and Word. Including the following: Working knowledge of database systems and Asset Management software 
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to operate forklift or other powered equipment desirable.
  • Ability to always use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) 


              Work Environment,

        The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this Job, the               employee is occasionally required to stand; climb; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must           frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is             occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet.

The noise level in the Production facility environment is occasionally loud.
