Job Overview

This role is a key position within the recently created Business Transformation Team.  The role will be responsible for the delivery of process innovation and implementation, continuous improvement initiatives and driving results engagement at all levels across the Hostess Brands Supply Chain (procurement through transportation). It will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of Lean or similar principles and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation and a CI (Continuous Improvement) culture.  This role will manage and coordinate efforts to ensure performance management, cost reduction, quality improvement, and environmental footprint programs are developed and managed via a data-driven focus aligned with the organization’s strategic imperatives.  Assures supply chain initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness; participates in strategic planning and provides leadership for performance management and quality improvement policy development.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and facilitate continuous improvement (CI) projects, training/workshops to drive cultural change
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business processes, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility design and create process documentation
  • Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, develop budgets and cost analysis to determine project feasibility
  • Drive cross functional CI projects and report out progress on a weekly basis
  • Establish & Document SOPs for Bakeries, DCs and Transportation
  • Establish Best Practice (BP) sharing mechanism
  • Collaborate cross functionally with stakeholders to enhance productivity, product quality and environmental impact
  • Communicate ideas and opinions to appropriate members of the team
  • Facilitate the use of electronic data / systems to digitize the organization’s processes while facilitating appropriate access at all levels
  • Coach / develop multiple CI leaders across bakeries, Transportation and DC Operations
  • Incorporate relevant technology & equipment
  • Drive results engagement at all levels of the organization via ideation involvement, process disciplines and feedback avenues

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role, including project management and business analysis with preferably 2+ years with a CPG company
  • Change agent with strong leadership skills, ability to learn and apply new concepts and overcome obstacles with change
  • Previous experience of designing or implementing a framework of continuous improvement across multiple functions required
  • Previous experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean or similar solutions required
  • Previous experience of designing remediation plans to address productivity and efficiency issues, and track record of following through to ensure closure required
  • Previous experience of the whole project life cycle, able to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, in the depths of system testing, and at each stage in between required

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Applied Sciences or other relevant field required.
  • Minimum accredited Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts (Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping, etc.)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • A ‘completer-finisher’ taking accountability for ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of Partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts
  • Strong analytical, project and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Ability to work with and influence others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to set-up, facilitate and lead service improvement/’Workout’ sessions with a range of business stakeholders (incl. Experience of process/value stream mapping)
