Job Overview

The RGM Trade Promotion Manager will help build and clearly define trade promotional guidelines and guardrails based on a robust Post Event Analysis process developed by the RGM Trade Promotion Manager.  This position will establish Hostess Brands’ promotional position in the market by defining a clear promotional strategy in collaboration with our Marketing and Brand Teams (amongst other cross-functional teammates).  The RGM Trade Promotion Manager will build and maintain the capability of evaluating the return on investment (ROI) of promotional events run by the company to enhance event level ROIs over time.  This position will be critical in the development and launch of our new TPM/TPO (Trade Promotion Management/Trade Promotion Optimization) tool.  The RGM Trade Promotion Manager will be critical as Hostess Brands drives the mindset, capabilities, and principles of Revenue Growth Management over the next several years.


  • Mines and shares data analytics and insights that shape the promotional strategy, guidelines, and guardrails used by the Field teams with their customers.
  • Builds a sustainable process for analyzing and communicating promotional ROIs, especially as we transition to a new TPM/TPO provider.
  • Manages change with the Field, our internal cross-functional partners, and our customers.
  • Owns and updates event level databases for all Brands, Customer and Products using internal spending data and syndicated consumption data.
  • Identifies events that should or should not be repeated and develops a robust playbook that can be shared across customer teams.
  • Stays current with all competitive merchandising strategies, promotions, and spending levels ensuring Hostess Brands’ pricing plans are competitive and at the forefront of the industry.
  • Collaborates with Trade Managers and Field Sales on how to elevate ROI on low performing events.
  • Serves as the internal project lead for promotional pricing deep dives and provides recommendations to all cross-functional teammates.
  • Provides insight to help refine annual operating plan (AOP) guidelines on an ongoing basis.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by management.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or sales
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in any combination of Trade Management, Sales or Category Management


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge and use of category management tools and data
  • Advanced knowledge and use of TPM systems either through broker experience or use at another Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally
  • Ability to interact with Sales and Finance effectively required
  • Excellent data system affinity with ability to work with and learn new systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications is essential. High level of proficiency in Excel required.
