Job Overview

The Regional Sales Director will be in a highly visible leadership role, responsible for directing and managing the entire sales process for the Great Lakes Region within our Grocery channel representing the Hostess Brands products.  Retail Customers include; Meijer, SpartanNash, Giant Eagle, Marc’s, Heinens, Winkler, Laurel, Forth Foods. 


  • Manages and directs all Sales and Trade activities for the Hostess Brands Portfolio
  • Executes annual sales and gross-profit plans by implementing brand marketing strategies, analyzing trends and results
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas
  • Leads the implementation and development of sales programs and action plans for Hostess including capability work related to strategic customer focus
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and merchandising while keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors at Hostess and rest of market
  • Directs and measures Acosta Sales & Marketing/Hostess sales staff by motivating, training, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Establishes a sustainable platform for continued development of Top-to-Top relationship building between the Customers and Hostess Brands
  • Drives and directs joint business planning initiatives and key innovation efforts


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience/training required
  • 7 years’ experience in CPG/packaged food sales in partnership with a broker, though direct selling experience strongly preferred
  • Recent grocery and retail channel experience with management of warehouse delivered food/snack products preferred
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to effectively set priorities, monitor divisional compliance and consistently follow-up
  • Presentation experience – develop, analyze and skillfully present business and marketing materials 
  • Understanding of syndicated data including Nielsen and IRI, as well as ability to work with various technologies and enterprise applications 
  • Effectively able to communicate goals and objectives throughout all levels of the Hostess organization 
  • Uses strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate opportunities and build alignment and value-adding relationships 
  • Capacity to utilize and apply all Hostess Brands Category Management tools (Customer insights, consumer & customer demographics, assortment decisions, channel leakage, etc.)
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays
