Job Overview

Hostess Brands LLC is currently seeking an Internal Auditor in our Lenexa, KS Headquarters. This role will be a key contributor to the internal audit team to facilitate compliance standards and processes.  The Internal Auditor will be responsible for day-to-day activities and tasks associated with Sarbanes-Oxley, compliance, financial, and operational audits.


  • Documents and implements internal control processes, SOPs, policies, and company initiatives
  • Completes risk assessments
  • Assists with internal and external audits, as instructed by Director of Internal Audit and Senior Management
  • Monitors and improves control activities
  • Performs control testing
  • Prepares audit workpapers
  • Provides research and analytics to support internal audit team and management


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree or CPA preferred
  • One or more years of related experience in public accounting or internal audit (to include college internships)
  • Intermediate knowledge and proficiency with MS Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, SharePoint
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; solution rather than problem focused
  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness and consistency in the execution of responsibilities
  • Ability to deliver written and oral communication, which is clear, concise and relevant to audience both within and outside of the Hostess Brands organization and with our 3rd party vendors
  • Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with key stakeholders both within and outside of the Hostess Brands organization and with our 3rd party vendors
  • Exhibits high ethical standards and professional conduct
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and to learn and adapt to new business processes, technologies, and environments
