Job Overview

The Integrated Media Director is responsible for understanding business & brand objectives and translating those goals into annual media strategies that drive highly effective, national brand building campaigns that generate positive ROI and increased sales. The Media Director will be responsible for managing the external agency partners and ensuring media plans and investment strategies effectively meet the business goals and objectives. This role will be responsible for staying abreast of the changing media and technology landscape and proactively educate the organization on the effects of these changes on our business. This is highly collaborative role who will work closely with brand management, insights, analytics, and agency partners to bring about distinctive and effective media programs for our portfolio of brands.


Media Planning & Investment

  • Strategic media leader who drives the development & implementation of cross channel, integrated media plans Drives annual media planning and total investment strategy for Hostess Brands portfolio of brands.
  • Guides campaign development, optimization, and testing strategy in partnership with agency partners.
  • Collaborative leader who works closely with brand & sales teams to understand business priorities & activation needs throughout year
  • Demonstrates in depth understanding of both brand building media as well as performance-based media planning & buying
  • In depth knowledge/experience with planning all media channels including, but not limited to: digital media, retail media, all video forms, performance media, biddable media, social, DOOH.
  • Ability to lead and develop Hostess Brands strategic data approach, building 1P data roadmaps, technology stack development, and effective execution of data in media and/or across owned/social channels.
  • Create strategic media investment roadmaps. Identify spend scenarios for short & long term as well as contingency plans.
  • Effectively socialize program plans, learnings, and successes across cross-functional teams & organization
  • Ensure integrated advertising campaigns and activations are flawlessly executed on-time and on-budget
  • Be the champion and face of media planning & buying for the organization


Performance Management & Learning

  • In partnership with agency, drive annual learning strategies, establishing learning agendas, assessing measurement partners, developing KPIs and long-term learning playbook.

Marketplace/Competitive Trends

  • Stay current and actively informed on media advances, marketplace trends, consumer behavior trends and competitor messaging & activities. Share business implications and help bring out proactive
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with core media vendor community.

  Marketing Budget & Invoicing Management

  • Manage & monitor master Media budget
  • Lead the process & reconciliation of media invoicing & reconciliation.
  • Support leadership in budget pacing throughout year


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or Communications related field
  • At minimum, 10 years of media planning & investment experience - Brand or Agency side
  • Demonstrated success in abilities to lead internal & external agency teams effectively
  • Strong, clear, and concise executive communication skills with ability to set deadlines, track progress and manage up/down/across
  • Ability to work collaboratively, effectively & positively with internal cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once with positive, high energy, and ease
  • Strong critical thinker from observations through problem solving
  • Working knowledge of syndicated audience tools including, but not limited to, ComScore and eMarketer
  • MS Office skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe specifically
  • Previous CPG experience preferred
