Job Overview

The VP, Planning and Distribution will support and/or manage activity across all manufacturing facilities and distribution centers. This position provides high touch, single point of accountability to drive and lead global brand and supply chain objectives, ensuring strategic alignment, innovation and operational excellence. This position will manage the entire planning, distribution and customer service teams, processes, and systems to support and scale for growth, while meeting company objectives around cost, quality, and the highest level of customer service. This position will be responsible for the generation of critical information and KPIs to synchronize Hostess supply chain end to end.

Responsibilities

  • Direct overall long- and short-term planning process, including demand, supply, and resource planning, finished goods inventory, product lifecycle management, new product introduction/support, and E&O management.
  • Direct responsibility for inbound, outbound and warehousing strategies as well as daily execution to guarantee high levels of service with best-in-class cost and quality
  • Direct responsibility for order management and customer service functions
  • Define functional requirements, tools and capabilities to support company needs and implement strategies to reduce complexity and improve efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Key stakeholder in the product lifecycle management and new product development/introduction support.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of supply chain processes, procedures and policies. Ensure all processes, procedures, and policies are documented and adhered to at all levels of the organization.
  • Ownership of the development of, tracking of, reporting on, and management of customer service levels.
  • Understand and ensure supply chain organizational alignment with sales and operational strategy.
  • Develop, report, and maintain related KPI’s: Customer Service Levels, E&O, Damage, DOH (days on hand), Inventory Stock/Turns/Accuracy/Cost/Carry Rate, on-time metrics, fill rates, and cycle times.
  • Proactively mitigate product and material availability issues, analyze root cause and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with planning, operations, sales, finance, and marketing.
  • Review, enhance, the enterprise SI&OP capabilities by hiring key staff, establishing processes and tools, and gaining alignment with the organization for use of this capability.
  • Key stakeholder in the product lifecycle management and new product development/introduction support activities.
  • Represent Supply Chain to achieve the cost of goods objectives and drive supply cost and return on investment through the leadership of Value Analysis and Innovation Processes.
  • Ensure all compliance and regulatory measures are met
  • Build, manage, and retain supply chain talent and establish supply chain succession plans for all critical positions.
  • Establish strategic roadmap for the area and the distribution network

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Supply Chain experience with 5+ years successfully managing people and leading teams. International supply chain experience preferred.
  • Supply chain, inventory, planning, and MRP systems experience. SAP, JDA, and Logility preferred.
  • Advanced MS Office and Data Warehouse skills
  • Prefer experience in lean principles and tools, including lean implementation
  • Knowledge and experience in the CPG industry

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required. Master Degree preferred.
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM Certification preferred.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 15%

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • End-to-end supply chain experience at a high-volume, high-growth organization recognized as best-in-class operations and supply chain, including specific expertise in integrated supply chain.
  • Collaborative yet relentless approach to process improvement and team management in order to achieve best in class results, especially around cost, cycle time/throughput and customer service.
  • Proven track record of partnering with R&D, Product Development, and commercialization team to optimize new product launches and product lifecycle management with a fast-paced, high growth company with a robust pipeline of new products and short product lifecycles.
  • Experience deploying order-to-cash tools and inventory management systems to maximize sales, improve forecast accuracy, and reduce inventory and obsolescence, as well as seize systemic change management opportunities that coincide with ERP capabilities.
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented with optimal organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver insights and findings effectively. Proven ability to build consensus among a diverse leadership group.
  • Must be able to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
