Job Overview

The Document Control Specialist assists with the research, verification, implementation and control of quality system procedures, documents and batch sheets. Audits quality systems and assists with continuous improvement efforts. Reviews trending and corrective actions to determine reasonable and effective resolutions are implemented. 

Responsibilities

  • Research quality system documentation to identify discrepancies and follow-up with appropriate departments to achieve resolution
  • Verify through auditing that quality system procedures and documents are accurate
  • Create or modify quality system documents as appropriate in coordination with department coordinators
  • Audit and reconciliation of batch sheet, control batch sheet changes
  • Develop tools to track errors and identify corrective action
  • Develop trend reports for corrective actions and follow-up to monitor effective resolutions
  • Verify through auditing production records that batch record reports are accurate and balanced
  • Assist with root cause analysis when discrepancies are found through all quality system audits

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in related area preferred.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills required.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working with document control and auditing preferred.
  • An understanding of batch sheet control and accounting is helpful.
  • ISO, BRC, or Global Food Safety Initiative system experience preferred.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft suite
